Get ready to go

Union Jack - we are the Mods

In March 1979 with the publication of the 45 "Get ready to go" by the band dellla Squire mod movement, after 15 years from its peak, comes from 'underground and back into the limelight, the New Musical Express thirty days After comes out with a cover photo taken in 1964 during a mod scooter run while all 'internal devotes several pages to the origins of the modernist movement and the new bands that are catalyzing the attention of young Englishmen. These new bands inspired sixties bands like, Kinks, The Who, Small Faces and the Motown sound, but rather than slavishly copy them using the grit of punk as corburente able to ignite an explosive musical mix: will call back "Mod '79 ". Throughout the summer of 1979 the most important events in London and as a reflection of the whole 'England, were those with bands whose names rimarcavano clearly their sense of belonging: T h and Lambrettas, The Mods, Merton Parkas, Secret Affair, Purple Hearts, Chords, Teenbeat ... just to name a few. Ironically, the mod revival was gradually cannibalised from another subculture and music genre that drew lifeblood of the sixties: ska, revived and updated by the record two tone. In the early eighties the movement back in the underground to continue intact to us. Thirty years later, to celebrate the anniversary of the 'release of "Get ready to go", and then start the "official" mod '79 RMSC has searched the web for available music LEGALLY create a playlist with the songs of the period. Good listening ... this is the time for 'action :-)
